Ilam, Feb 10: Ilam has been chosen for milk production under the ‘One district, one production’ project.
The project is jointly implemented by the Ministry of Agriculture and Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), Agro Enterprise Center. The district is in a good position in view of milk production, Ilam Chamber of Commerce and Industry First Vice President, Nutandev Dulal, said. Preparations have been made to establish a dairy industry here.
"There is high demand for dairy products like cheese, churpi (hardened yak cheese) and powder milk in the national and international market, and the district can make a good income by establishing a dairy industry," District’s Senior Livestock Development Officer, Pashupati Dhungana, said.
The Center has already provided Rs 5.5 million to the bodies concerned for the implementation of project. RSS
